West Central Area students attended their first CIS Animal Science Field Day on Tuesday, February 5th. The students practiced using artificial insemination on cows’ reproductive tracts, learned how to clip cattle and shear sheep, identified feed samples, took vital signs on young calves, and got to analyze feed digestion in a fistulated cow which means they literally scooped digesting feed out of the rumen of a cow's stomach!
